From October 21st until November 27th, Long Weekend and Fayes Video in California are hosting #CautionMayBeHot. This show will feature 12oz paper coffee cups altered in some way by the participating artists.
For my submission, I thought about the potential life cycle of a coffee cup. It begins very clean and crisp and then may get stained by coffee or lipstick. Afterwards, it's thrown away and potentially ends up outside, exposed to plant life and vegetation. I'm interested in the idea of this object collecting 'memories' and displaying them through different layers of media.
